In May / June 2006 a team of Japanese researchers has filmed coelacanths. This is the second video of a famous Indonesian coelacanth in its natural habitat (the previous one was conducted in 1999 by a German team).
The report states that more than 200 coelacanths have been listed on coast of South Africa, and only 4 of the Indonesian variety until the discovery in May by the team of the Aquamarine Fukushima. This time they are 7 new people who were spotted by a robot submarine off the coast of Sulawesi island. They lived in water at 17 ° between 150 and 180 meters deep.
